Skilled Regional visa Subclass 887

The Skilled Regional Visa (Subclass 887) grants permanent residency to skilled workers who have lived and worked in specified regional areas of Australia. To qualify, applicants must have resided in a designated regional area for at least two years and have at least one year of full-time employment in such areas. Importantly, applicants must be in Australia both when applying for and when the visa is granted.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this visa, you must:

Hold an eligible visa, such as:

✔️ Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489)

✔️ Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 495)

✔️ Skilled Designated Area Sponsored (Provisional) visa (subclass 496)

✔️ Skilled Regional Sponsored visa (subclass 475 or 487)

✔️ Bridging visa A or B after applying for a subclass 495, 487, or 489 visa

✅ Have lived for at least two years in a specified regional area of Australia

✅ Have worked full-time (minimum 35 hours per week) for one year in a specified regional area

✅ Have complied with the conditions of your eligible visa

✅ Meet health and character requirements

Health and Character Requirements

✅ You and any family members included in your application must:

✔️ Meet health requirements

✔️ Provide police certificates from each country you've lived in for 12 months or more over the past 10 years after turning 16

Debts to the Australian Government

✅ Ensure you have no outstanding debts to the Australian Government before the visa is granted

Family Members in the Application

You can include the following family members in your visa application:

✔️ Your partner

✔️ Your or your partner's dependent child or stepchild

Ensure you provide documentary evidence to prove your relationship with these family members.
